Unlike the series this ten-episode *spinoff* belongs to, *O Senhor e a Serva* will be based on historical rather than biblical accounts, beginning a few years after Paul's time—more specifically, on the first day of the opening of the Flavian Amphitheater, better known as the Colosseum. A stage for epic, cruel, unjust clashes, always watched with malicious euphoria by tens of thousands of people, with Christians as the main victims.

Another attraction marked by cruelty was gladiatorial combat. Physically imposing and skilled, their fame and popularity might grow with victories in the arena, but their real fight was often for their own freedom, since most were, in fact, enslaved.

Note: whether we will see these clashes or not, we leave to your imagination, but one thing we can confirm is that this face, hardly familiar around here, will be one of them.

Although cruel, luxuriously decadent Rome has no shortage of controversial events, one specific event will take place in our beloved Jerusalem—and it is historical.
