# Guilherme Berenguer accepts his role in ‘A Vida de Jó’ without reading the scripts

Returning to the screen after ten years, Guilherme Berenguer will star in the new miniseries ‘A Vida de Jó’, which premieres in 2025 here on Univer Vídeo. But the news held an even more surprising detail: ‘No, I didn’t read the scripts before accepting the role,’ the actor stated.

Although he had already been following the biblical productions made here — ‘I was already familiar with them, and I would like to highlight the quality of the artistic production, the visual language in which they are filmed. And, of course, the Brazilian actors too — they are wonderful. These productions are recognized worldwide’ — it was a personal connection to the character that led him to make this decision.

> ‘Job’s story intrigued me and awakened that desire in me. The points that intrigue me most are the conversation between God and the devil and the questions Job asks. They are very thought-provoking. What convinced me to want to tell this story was the character.’

Guilherme and Enzo Krieger, who will play young Job — yes, the miniseries will portray this part of his life for the first time — recently met with the writer, Cristiane Cardoso, gaining interesting insights into the story:

*‘At one point in our conversation — which, by the way, was very relaxed and inspiring — Cris shared something that made me look at Job’s character from another perspective: the moment when he comes to his senses, when he begins to know himself, not just to know God. To understand the human being he is. That made me see everything from another angle.’*

Now preparing for filming to begin, Guilherme has finished reading the scripts. *‘I am amazed by the wealth of detail — especially in the nonverbal communication and the stage directions. There is so much communication even when the characters are not speaking to each other. I was very surprised and pleased.’*  

And for those already looking forward to this premiere, he has a message:

> ‘To those of you who will follow Job’s life, I can say that you will be inspired. You will be moved by a story of faith, a story of hope, love, and resilience — whether you are prospering or in utter decline, facing scarcity or on the brink of death. The question is: how do you deal with all of this, even while suffering so much?’
