O Sonho da Liberdade is an adaptation of Anne Holm’s internationally acclaimed novel North to Freedom.

It tells the story of David, a 12-year-old boy who escapes a communist concentration camp with instructions to reach Copenhagen.

All he possesses is a loaf of bread, a letter to deliver to someone in Denmark, and a compass to help him get there.

As he crosses Europe, David finds himself in a free world for the first time in his life. It is a moving story of discovery, in which he gradually loses his natural distrust of others and begins to smile, share, trust, and finally love.
