**The film Salomão**

David, now an old man, is still king of Israel. Among his sons are ambitious Adonijah and intelligent Solomon. The two young men are fierce rivals, both potential heirs to the throne, but only one can succeed. During a hunting expedition, Adonijah challenges his younger brother Solomon to a chariot race.

While Solomon, though brave, remains somewhat cautious, reckless Adonijah is eager to win at any cost and loses control of his chariot. Solomon takes the severely injured Adonijah back to Jerusalem. On the way, they meet the attractive Abishag, who, despite her youth, is well versed in medicinal herbs. She does manage to help the prince.

Adonijah falls in love with Abishag, but Bathsheba arranges for her to work for David, hoping her youth, beauty, and healing powers will ease the old king's suffering.
