The fascinating narrative also introduces young Solomon, chosen by God Himself to succeed his father, a position the prince feels neither worthy nor capable of assuming. Rejected by his brothers for being the son of David's marriage to Bathsheba, Solomon becomes a reserved, insecure young man with few friends. In Naamah, a lively and daring Ammonite, he will find the escape he so desires, and the two will experience a passionate romance in secret.
